Scholarship Information

The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 150 would like to build the future of the Operating Engineers by supporting those who aspire to further their education with the help of the IUOE Local 150 Scholarship Fund, Inc.

What scholarships are available?

Sixteen 4-Year College Scholarship
Provides $3,300 per year for undergraduate studies at an accredited college or university. Renewable for up to 3 additional years (total of 4 years).

Eight 2-Year Community College Scholarship
Provides $2,750 per year for an undergraduate degree at a community college. Renewable for 1 additional year (total of 2 years).

Four 2-Year Mechanic/Technical School Scholarship
Provides $5,500 per year for a degree or certification at an accredited mechanical or technical school. Renewable for 1 additional year (total of 2 years).

One 1-Year Work Boot Scholarship
A one-time, $500 award for students with demonstrated financial need. Non-renewable.

How do you qualify? You must be:

  1. At least a high school senior at the time of the application.
  2. Provisionally accepted or previously accepted as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited community college, mechanical/technical school, or four-year accredited college or university.
  3. A United States citizen.
  4. Have a legal guardian that is a current IUOE Local 150 member or retiree who is current on dues.
  5. The following candidates are NOT eligible: Any dependent of current employees, officers, or elected officials of IUOE Local 150 or its related entities, including but not limited to ASIP, MOE funds, CRF, Credit Union, III FFC, and all other related entities as determined by the Board of Trustees of IUOE, Local 150 Scholarship Fund, Inc.

What we need from you for you to be considered for an award:

2. Two Personal Reference Forms:

  • The scholarship requires two personal references to be completed by school faculty members, counselors, or adults not related to the student. Please have your personal reference use this fillable form.

3. An unofficial transcript.

  • Please get this from your school and submit it to us.

ALL of these required documents must be submitted online, by email, or by mail for you to be considered for a scholarship award. These documents must be submitted to us by Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
